Conduits Technologies Inc. Hosts Pocket Player Skin and Plugin
Contest with Giveaway

TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA, January 18, 2000 -- Conduits Technologies Inc. 
has launched a contest and giveaway for development of skins and
plugins for Pocket Player, a MP3 player for Windows CE.

Pocket Player supports an extensive skin system, where older skins
done for previous versions of the program can be used with future
releases.  Pocket Player also supports a pluggable visualization 
system while listening to music.  For example, one features a
visualization of the "oscilloscope" view and volume meter bars in 
real-time.  A software development kit for developing plugins is
available on the Conduits website.

The Pocket Player skin and plugin Giveaway guidelines are as 
follows:  an author who develops a skin for Pocket Player that
is not a derivative of an existing skin (judgement made by Conduits)
and is a product of a reasonable amount of work will receive a 
free copy of Pocket Player.  If two skins are made, meeting the 
guidelines, a copy of TaskSwitcher is given.  Three, and a copy of 
Pocket Browser is also given.  By the end of the giveaway 
(1 March 2000) a ratings system will be available on the Conduits 
website, and the five top rated skin authors will receive prizes.  

An author of a visualization plugin for Pocket Player, using
to the skin guidelines above, will receive copies of all three
aforementioned programs.  Making three unique plugins will
yield a free copy of Pocket Artist Lite (to be released before
March 2000).  As part of the contest, the top three
plugin authors will also receive other prizes.

Conduits has released a skin utility for Windows desktop machines
that simulates the Pocket Player skin engine on the desktop, 
to aid in the designing of the skins.  Full skin documentation 
and tutorials will be available soon on the Conduits website.

Pocket Player 1.2 is available as a free trial
from http://www.conduits.com/ce/player/, where the user can download 
and evaluate it unabridged for 15 days.  After the trial period
testing of skins is still active.  Pocket Player 1.2
is available for $14.95 from CEShopper.com (http://www.ceshopper.com).
